Coconut Palm

The coconut tree is a member of the palm tree family and the only living species of the genus Cocos. Coconut palms require warm conditions for successful growth, and are intolerant of cold weather. Coconut palms are normally cultivated in hot and wet tropical climates. They need year-round warmth and moisture to grow well and fruit. Unique among plants, coconut trees can be irrigated with sea water.
